They didn't seem to care that we would like a table and food, and would gladly wait for one to become available. Eventually they snapped and found us a spot in the back. Sadly, service was lacking thereafter, as well, and the undercooked pork chop caused my companion a few days of uncomfortableness.

This was about as bad as it gets. Not sure how it has gotten great reviews online, but the bar is not inclusive or lgbt friendly. On a separate note, I was physically attacked by the owner - decided that was my time to go.

Good German restaurant and bar, we ordered jägerschnitzel and cheese spätzle. The schnitzel was not really a schnitzel but a pork chop but I guess that is because a lot of Americans are coming here. The cheese spätzle were authentic though. Prices are reasonable. No German beer though: (but we got offered craft beer from Monterrey which made up for it:)

Ambiente más relajado que en otros sitios de SMA y con una carta diferente. Tienen varias recetas alemanas bien conseguidas. La comida tardó un poco más de la cuenta en llegar, pero nos ofrecieron un pequeño descuento como disculpa. Se agradece mucho el gesto!

Deliciosa comida y buen trato sin distinción ni discriminación por ser mexicana, en este lugar pareciera solo vienen extranjeros.

Es un lugar muy limpio, agradable, muy bien ubicado, sin embargo, las porciones de crema y sopa muy bien servidas pero de pésimo sabor y de los platos fuertes que pedimos el pollo pésimo, recomendando los camarones que estaban muy ricos pero solo eran 4 camarones en un gran plato. El servicio por parte de la mesera con bastante desagrado y de muy pésimo humor. La atención por parte del dueño es muy amable.

La salchicha alemana exquisita, por igual la hamburguesa y su mostaza francesa! La atención excelente!

As residents of San Miguel this is our favorite hang out. The food is fantastic and always consistent, the drinks are the strongest in town and the staff is super friendly and wonderful. The best folks in town can be found here!

Wonderful as usual. We had Monday night meatloaf and fish tacos. Great service. Carlos is a great host! Berlin bar is definitely one of our favorite places to go.

Cozy ambience, well stocked bar, & good food. The German food is good, but coming from someone who lived and worked in Germany, it could be tighten up a bit. Thanksgiving dinner was awesome; my wife and I have not enjoyed better anywhere. Definitely a great place to meet expats with stories to share.

Delicious food and drinks! Sitting aat the bar when you come alone reminds you that you are as part of it all! The owner and tge wait staff are integrally involved and attentive!

I love this place! Carlos from NYC, the owner, is so friendly. Everyone there is very welcoming. Great food and wine! Try the Portuguese red called “6 doors”. Delicious!

1 - the staff was really nice and accomodating. 2 - Wine selection was reasonable. 3 - food: I ordered the schnitzel, they served me a grilled pork chop.

Lovely atmosphere, chilly, would have been nicer with fireplaces burning, My chicken with spinach, tomatoes w/feta, made a lovely presentation, meat moist.

Contrary to a recent review, the current owner, Carlos, is as hospitable as they come, extremely hard working, and has never been known to sit at a corner table drinking all night. Perhaps the recent reviewer is recalling the previous owner who left a couple years ago. This is simply the best bar/restaurant in San Miguel, and the crowds prove it.

Enjoyed an evening meal here. Good selection on the menu. Welcomed at the door and staff were attentive all night. We enjoyed the German Bockwurst and the pork shank which fell of the bone! Our children really enjoyed the Goulash, which was very flavoursome. Children were welcomed. Art work is interesting to look at. Very pleasant evening. Bar area looked more lively with a good atmosphere (but obviously we couldn’t sit there with the children!)

Visited this bar after hearing rave reviews-all proved correct. Comfortable, attractive space, with helpful, knowledgeable baristas; cosmopolitan crowd, not just "cool" youth, variety of types and Mexican-European atmosphere. Also, not just Texans.
