Paula and staff put on a stupendous wedding for our Melanie and Max. Great food, great service, great rooms, great views. 5 stars. What a place.

Please move the mariachi band away from the dining area. Some of us are in Mexico to relax and enjoy friends. I've changed the star since your response - thank you for responding. I know it's a little difficult but some of us aren't here for the same reason. It was overly loud - especially the trumpets. Do guests really like them? I certainly heard a number of complaints and sour faces.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Walking distance to downtown area (romantic zone), but far enough away you won't have to deal with all the noise. House keeping service was impeccable. The housekeeper paid attention to when we left our room for day or breakfast and quickly and quietly cleaned room and refilled water jugs. The hotel used to be a private villa; therefore the layout is unique and not typical hotel. Rooms are located throughout the villa It feels like you are staying at a friends villa rather than a hotel.

Fantastic view of the city, very attentive staff. The mariachi band was wonderful. Surf and turf special was very good. Made for a very nice evening.

Make reservations and prepare yourself for great food and beautiful views of the city. The service was impeccable and the mariachi band was fantastic. It was very romantic. Highly recommended!

I just hosted my wedding here and had my guests stay in the rooms as well. The owners and staff are all lovely and we’re a pleasure to work with. They were extremely attentive and offered to help with anything I needed. The food is also amazing. The venue is absolutely stunning! My wedding was breathtaking because of them. The few nights we stayed were magical and all of my guests had nothing but positive and amazing things to say about the staff and venue. I will be returning many more times and hopefully for every anniversary!

What a fantastic evening! From the moment we walked in the front door it was a wonderful experience. The ambience, service and food were second to none! I had the lobster which was the most perfectly cooked, tender lobster I have ever had and I have eaten lobster at a lot of restaurants. The view of the sunset was amazing! They had a 4 piece band playing and singing traditional Mexican music which was so special. They were fantastic! Will definitely go back next time we are back in puerto Vallarta.

My partner, a General Practitioner and myself, a Business Owner just paid $1,000 pesos plus a $20 USD cash tip for 20 minutes of this awful experience!

No one approached us to offer us another mimosa, glass of water or coffee as we were the only Latinos Customers in between the rest of the foreign customers/tables.

Was is because we were latinos or gay? Or both? What a shame Hacienda San Angel!

Alessandro welcomed us very cordially and pleasantly and offered us our first and only round of mimosas and to only charge us for one buffet because he did notice I had only eaten half of a plate. I refused his offer as we were not there to ask for anything for free and we handed the $20 USD tip to him (40% GRATUITY OF OUR TOTAL!).

Dogs running around loosely between the tables and the food area… is this actually legal, allowed or ok? I mean I get it! I LOVE DOGS AS WELL AND I HAVE MY OWN OF 7 YEARS OLD AND WE ARE IN MEXICO but…. Really?

Servers yelling across the rooms with the wonderful violinist in the background, asking each other why one of them was shaking so much while carrying a hot chocolate looking drink, and who had what table and the why one of them was approaching someone else´s tables, and the other one complaining because no one wanted his prime rib…… well manicured older gentleman for the most part. Very unexpected, very disrespectful, very denigrating and I am from Colorado!

Mi compañero, un médico general y yo, un propietario de un negocios, ¡acabamos de pagar $1,000 pesos más una propina en efectivo de $20 USD por 20 minutos de esta horrible experiencia!

Nadie se nos acercó para ofrecernos otra mimosa, un vaso de agua o café, ya que éramos los únicos clientes latinos entre el resto de los clientes / mesas de extranjeros.

¿Sucedió ésto porque somos latinos o gays? ¿¿¿¿O ambos? ¡Qué pena Hacienda San Angel!

Alessandro nos recibió muy cordial y agradablemente y nos ofreció nuestra primera y única ronda de mimosas y nos ofreció solo cobrarnos por un buffet porque notó que solo había comido la mitad de un plato. Rechacé su oferta ya que no estábamos allí para pedir nada gratis y le entregamos a El, la propina de $20 USD (¡40% de PROPINA SOBRE EL TOTAL DE NUESTRA CUENTA!).

Perros corriendo libremente entre las mesas y el área de comida. ¿es esto legal, permitido o está bien? Digo! ME ENCANTA TAMBIEN LOS PERROS Y TENGO MI PROPIO DE 7 AÑOS DE EDAD Y ESTAMOS EN MÉXICO pero. ¿¿¿¿De Verdad?

Los meseros gritando a través de las mesas y los espacios, con el maravilloso violinista de fondo, preguntándose por qué uno de ellos estaba temblando tanto mientras llevaba una bebida con aspecto de chocolate caliente, y quién tenía qué mesa y por qué uno de ellos se acercaba a las mesas de otro mesero y el otro quejándose porque nadie quería su corte de carne prime rib.la mayoría de estos meseros ya caballero con porte. ¡Muy inesperada, muy irrespetuosa, muy denigrante y discriminatoria experiencia.y yo soy de Colorado!

Beautiful place and service. But twice I’ve had the fish and it never tastes fresh. Inexcusable in Puerto Vallarta.

We have enjoyed this place before but we were forced to leave after waiting half hour after our reservation. La Capalla is a very lovely new Italian restaurant across that is just as nice. It has a spectacular view & has amazing violinist. We highly recommend if you do not get seated or even offered a drink while you wait at this place. There’s no bar & you’ll have to wait downstairs in the lonely lobby till. If it want for their rudeness we would of never found La Capella which we can’t wait to come back to.

Service not as great as in past years. I had rack of lamb which was served with garlic mashed potatoes and a green vegetable. Let's just say those were some very expensive potatoes and veggies!

Really fine food and great staff. Their Mariachi band was the best ever but I've heard there is a different group now. It has been a delightful experience each time. I'll find out this year.

Exceptional service and cuisine in an elegant, beautiful, classy and quaint setting with spectacular views of Puerto Vallarta. The mariachi band is the best in the city - talented, tasteful and fun. Be advised that there are stairs to enter the grounds and then get up to the restaurant - I did not see an elevator but that doesn't mean there isn't one - I recommend inquiring before you go if needed. To enter the restaurant you need to knock on the door to be given access to the grounds. Plan to make reservations in time to view the sunset and give yourself a few extra minutes to take in the lobby. I hope to go every time I'm in Puerto Vallarta!

I spent a long weekend here for my birthday and I cannot express enough how special this hotel is! I was completely blown away by the attention to detail and the quality of service, not to mention the beautifully appointed rooms. The vibe at Hacienda San Angel is Old World opulence - it has a very sincere feeling of elevated luxury with no hint of artifice.

The layout is such that you may have little to no interaction with other guests, leaving you feeling as though it is your own private mansion with a staff dedicated to you alone. Every member of the staff we encountered was gracious and kind, which should go without saying, but i've certainly stayed at hotels where there was an employee or three with an attitude problem and that was very far from the case at Hacienda San Angel.

Everything was immaculately maintained, from the grounds, to the pools, to the rooms. I peeked into several unoccupied rooms to find that they were all large and airy, each lovely in different ways, and it seemed like they all had balconies with some outdoor seating, as well. I was lucky enough to stay in the San Miguel room, which is above the hotel's restaurant, and I believe it's a presidential suite. It has 2 walls of glass doors that open onto a large private terrace with table and chairs for enjoying food and drink outdoors, 2 lounge chairs, as well as an outdoor jacuzzi and incredible panoramic views of the ocean and the mountains.it was such a treat to wake up to that view every day! Being above the restaurant you do hear the music of the violinists that play during brunch and dinner service, but I personally found that to be a bonus feature! It really added to the ambience for me.

Speaking of ambience and the restaurant.each night, in preparation for dinner service, candles and fresh flowers are placed all around the courtyard, which really elevated the magical atmosphere of the space. The service at the restaurant is exceptional, and they have an incredible mariachi band that plays twice throughout the night (maybe only weekends, idk). The band had 6 violinists and harpist in addition to the guitarists and horn players. I was so impressed by the skill of the musicians that I actually teared up a little. Aside from the service and atmosphere, the restaurant also has excellent food! It's not Mexican cuisine, rather an array of elevated international dishes. On the weekend there is an incredible brunch buffet, as well.

When I looked at pictures online, I had been a little unimpressed by the modest size of the pools, but in person I found them to be quite lovely, perfect even, and the fact that there are 3 means that you have options - to get more sun or more shade, to have a view of the mountains or feel like you are in seclusion in a jungle paradise! They all felt very private, which I think is pretty rare at a hotel.

In addition to the hotel itself being like something out of a fantasy, the location is unbeatable. You are a very short walk to the malecon, which seemed to be the happening boardwalk type area with lots of bars and shops.

I cannot recommend this place enough, and I will definitely be staying here again!

This is for the stuffed chicken plate.it's supposed to be semigloss but it taste like soy sauce.

Great restaurant with an even better view of the town. You walk through the hotel lobby on your way to the restaurant, the hotel lobby is wort the trip alone. Food is wonderful and so is the service.

Came there tonight around 9: 30 pm to check out the restaurant, the lady at the front desk informed us that the restaurant is closed. There was a live music upstairs and the place was definitely opened. Then the receptionist said that the dinner is only upon reservation. I politely asked if we can take a look at the restaurant, and she replied that we cannot, due to a privacy of the guests. The worst customer service I ever had.

Perfect location in a quiet part of town but still a short walk from beach. Outstanding service, there are just a few rooms, all suites with names not numbers, but a bunch of staff. Great restaurants, one in the hotel, they own the Italian across the street and the famous Elizabeth Taylor Iguana next door.
