Importadora y Exportadora El Tío Sam

I purchased BRAND NEW Whirlpool appliances for my new kitchen here. Stove, hood, refrigerator, wine refrigerator. After delivery I realized that the Whirlpool Refrigerator was not working. I called and reported it. And I was unable to connect with the technician. I ended up leaving for the season and when I got back I called again, went to Tío Sam and reported it REPEATEDLY. Finally someone came and replaced the motor. It still does not work. By this time well over a year has passed. I battles with Tío Sam basically begging for a replacement refrigerator. It’s on Whirlpool not Tio Sam. They left me out to dry said the year warranty was up. I never even took the plastic off of it. WORST CONSUMER experience of my life. I fully believed in the brand Whirlpool and their warranty and dealer. I literally sent the brand new never used refrigerator to the dump. Took a 100% loss and am going to Home Depot to buy one.

I bought a Mabe washer & Dryer set this morning (8/1/22) and El Tio Sam "pro" Claudia there did a great job of assisting me with my selection and final purchase. She had complete and expert product knowledge of the the available brands and options for me to consider and she was calm, professional, helpful and very friendly during the entire transaction. There was zero pressure with Claudia, which was very enjoyable (unlike with many of my past appliance retail experiences I have had in San Diego) and it was my pleasure to have her assist me with my purchase. Claudia is an asset to El Tio Sam and if I was still a mid-level banking manager and this pleasurable sales experience happened in San Diego, I would have had no other choice than to offer her a job on my team there asap. Thanks again, Claudia- you rock! Best of luck to you and Tio Sam's! PS I was on my way to GDL Home Depot to most probably buy a set from them, so I am happy that I decided to give Tio Sam's a look.

Good service. Good prices. They were out of a few items I wanted but the next best items worked. Delivery was excellent.

They have a nice selection of appliances. I have purchased a fridge, freezer, 2 washers and a dryer from them. I would shop there again.

They have things that you cannot find anywhere else but even on common items they are VERY expensive.

Had heard good things about Tio Sam’s in Ajijic, but I am afraid I am unable to recommend them. We recently placed an order for a washer, dryer and dishwasher. We were told all items were available and delivery was arranged for 3 days later. Just before delivery, we received a phone call informing us that the dryer we ordered was only available in red, and if we wanted another machine, it would be an extra 2,400 pesos. This obviously was not checked during the ordering process. We had no choice but to pay the difference for matching appliances. When we got our delivery, the dishwasher was not on the truck. When we asked why, we were casually told “ it was forgotten”. Now we had the dishwasher finally delivered today and it is badly damaged, so now we have to get a replacement. Through all of this, we have had shrugs and overall no reaction. On top of all this, while getting our washer and dryer installed, we were told the dryer needed converting from Natural gas to Propane. No-one mentioned this in the store when we ordered, so now we have to wait around another day, for another person, to get it done. Why was this not mentioned and booked when our order was placed? Overall, I would definitely NOT recommend this company.yes, yes, it is Mexico.but there is no excuse for inefficiency. They really mess their customers around and appear to not know what on earth they are doing.next time, we will find another store who are more customer friendly.

Great place to shop for appliances. My contractor got me a 20% discount and they held the appliances until needed. Large selection. Sales people speak English. Take credit cards.
