Excelente servicio de Erik Serna, Canario y Jesús los que atienden el pool bar Royal.
Un gustazo por la atención por parte de ellos, siempre preocupados por mantenernos felices.
Cristina en el bar del Lobby una chulada, muy linda chica, super atenta y amable siempre sonriendo y nos hizo pasar momentos super chevere, abracito para ella.
Desgraciadamente el servicio en el comedor principal es deficiente.
Fuera de eso, todo muy bien!

La verdad desde la recepción al hotel estuvo mal, nos atendió una señorita que estaba enojada con la vida, mal encarada y a parte quería vendernos a fuerza el paquete "mejor" del hotel (cosa que ni siquiera dicen que hay) y después le dijimos que no y nos refirió que no íbamos a poder entrar a ningún restaurante, que solo era una vez en toda la estancia, que nosotros veíamos; después en el restaurante el mariachi no nos dejaron sentar en una mesa para cinco que porque ya iban a cerrar esa área, le dijimos que todavía no era la hora y se enojaron y dijeron que iban a ver qué se podía hacer, la solución más lógica era juntar dos mesas, pero no, para ellos no, para ellos eso es un sacrilegio, entonces nos pusimos separados; la comida claramente se ve que le dan tres vueltas, primero en el restaurant de especialidad, luego de ahí pasa al buffet que está cerca de la recepción y al final al restaurante mexicano, es increíble que todo esté super recalentado, los frijoles ya estaban como en su cuarta recalentada y ya no sabían nada bien; en la habitación no servía bien la puerta, no cerraba bien, pero creímos que sería lo único, luego fallaba el aire, después de eso se tapó el baño y como era noche, nadie atiende en la noche, te dicen que te tienes que esperar hasta el otro día porque ni una sola bomba para el baño tienen, después de insistir siempre sí había personal y una bomba y lo mandaron; el personal parece que está enojado con la vida, todo les molesta, les preguntas que qué tienen para desayunar y son groseros y te dicen que ahí le leas, en otros hoteles te explican y aquí ni buenos días te dicen, contados son los que sí hacen bien su trabajo y cuando digo contados son solo 3 personas que nos hicieron buena la estancia, pero también parece que se les carga mucho la mano y por eso no pueden; es increíble que se pague una buena cantidad por el hotel y sea tan pésimo, lo calificaría como una experiencia de mala a pésima, no lo recomendaría nunca.

Mis pensamientos sobre este hotel son un poco contradictorios. Cuando vi por primera vez este hotel en Google, fue elogiado sin fin, todo se veía increíble. Pero me pregunto si esas calificaciones provienen de aquellos que solo han estado en este complejo. Verá, he estado en otro resort antes llamado Velas Vallarta y al comparar Occidental con Velas, Occidental se queda un poco corto.
Una de las cosas que fue un poco confusa fue la situación de la habitación. Las habitaciones eran pequeñas, lo cual, supongo, es de esperar. Mi hermano y yo compartimos la habitación, nos dijeron que recibiríamos una mini nevera, llena de bebidas y bocadillos, y ciertamente esperaba mucho más de lo que me dieron. En Velas te dan una cantidad realmente obscena de bocadillos y bebidas, papas fritas, cereales, cafés y todo tipo de bebidas. Ahora bien, no esperaba que el minibar en Occidental fuera del mismo calibre, por ejemplo, Velas no es todo incluido, pero ciertamente pensé que sería más de lo que obtuve. Un poco de agua, algunos refrescos y como 4 cervezas diferentes que nunca bebimos ya que no bebemos alcohol, y los "bocadillos", si puedo llamarlos, eran una pequeña bolsa de papas fritas con una pequeña bolsa de nueces picantes. Sin mencionar que nunca fue realmente reabastecido. El baño estaba bien, pero los enchufes de la habitación no funcionaban en absoluto. Y la ducha, oh la ducha. ¿Por qué la ducha estaba así? ¿Por qué era visible desde la habitación? No puede haber tantas parejas yendo aquí. Seguro que podrías cerrarlo con la puerta corrediza del armario, pero me pareció extraño y un poco asqueroso porque estaba compartiendo una habitación con mi hermano. Las camas eran un poco más duras de lo que esperaba y realmente no sabíamos cómo usar el aire acondicionado, por lo que nunca hacía suficiente frío.
La piscina fue muy decepcionante. Estoy acostumbrado a muchas piscinas de Velas, una grande conectada por un río a una piscina aún más grande con un bar en la piscina. Comparado con eso, la piscina en Occidental fue increíblemente decepcionante, especialmente porque era solo una piscina para todos y otra que estaba reservada para clientes que pagaban más.
La comida era excelente, especialmente los restaurantes de alta cocina. Los ame. Ojalá hubiera ido más. Los bufés eran buenos, nada demasiado espectacular o malo, simplemente bueno. El desayuno estaba bien, yo no era el mayor fan, ya que parecía que parte de la comida estaba recocida y no sabía tan bien como en otros lugares.
En general, disfruté, pero no creo que volvería a ir al lugar si tuviera que pagar por ello. Mi papá pagó el viaje, así que estuvo bien. Fue agradable pero no tan agradable como pensé que sería. Además, la ubicación estaba bastante lejos de todo lo que no me gustaba.
Sin mencionar que a mi papá le robaron la maleta de alguna manera y el resort estaba como "no somos responsables de nada de lo que hayas perdido", a pesar de que dejamos todas nuestras maletas con ellos. Así que sí, no estoy seguro de si este será un destino de viaje para nosotros en el futuro. Pero fue divertido.

Me encanta este lugar y hay mucho que hacer dentro y fuera del resort. Me sentí seguro y cuidado aquí.

El personal hace todo lo posible para que su estancia sea especial y relajante.

El club Royal es una experiencia tranquila y romántica. Gracias a Edgar Hernandez, Sandra Sepúlveda, Anali Urrutice, Manuel Gonzalez, Rafael Aice, Francisco Avellano, Kayla y Eligio Topete. Todos ustedes hicieron todo lo posible por mí y mi familia durante toda nuestra estadía.

También me gustaría mencionar al personal del primer club/al personal de la piscina de nivel real, que fue muy amable y brindó un servicio excelente.

Mi esposa y yo hemos venido a este complejo 4 veces y esperamos a Carlos en el bar principal y a Daniel en el restaurante italiano. Ustedes dos son como una familia para nosotros y nos hacen sentir muy bienvenidos.

David en el buffet, gracias por hacer que el cumpleaños de mi esposa sea especial y "Chef Ninja", como lo llama mi hija, en Tokio, una experiencia gastronómica tan entretenida y divertida.

Podría seguir, pero creo que entiendes la idea. Hemos hecho el nivel Royal las 4 veces y nunca nos arrepentimos.

I stayed at this hotel last week and nothing but issues, starting with requesting a room with ocean view and only can see the ocean if you get on top of a chair room 478, requested king size bed and crew placed 2 queen beds together (got pictures) reserve with one of their restaurants you have to be at concierge desk by 9 am and you still can't get a early reservation, mariachi restaurant serve spoil food my son got sick, Tokio restaurant not enough crew, will never go to this place again, one good thing Luis in sand area great guy

Quiero destacar la atencion de los meseros en especial Irving que hizo de nuestra estancia algo especial. Asi mismo Rene y todo el equipo del bar junto a la piscina.
Lo unico que sale de contexto es una persona que esta en recepcion de nombre Ana muy descortes y nada amable

Incredible first time in Mexico at Occidental Grand Nuevo Vallarta, First Club level! Service by Luis Robles on the beach was absolutely Fantastic; personality, kind, hard working employee! Highly recommend!

Promised a king bed but only two double beds in the room. Reservations required for restaurants but half of them were closed and there was a maximum of 3 reservations. Waiters and house keeping staff were much better and friendlier than guest services. Even though we didn't get the room we requested, they wanted to charge us for an "upgrade". To me, that's a scam.

La mejor atención que he recibido en un hotel. El personal hace de tu hospedaje algo especial. Seguro regresamos.

This place is not ideal for children which is why I give a lower rating. I am staying here for 8 days-Monday to Tuesday and I look forward to returning home. Honestly, the other families I spoke to with kids also looked forward to going to other resorts and going home and here is why. It is extremely difficult to sleep here for multiple reasons. 1. You have to pay $40 extra per day if you want to eat lunch before your kids nap time, otherwise you have to wait until 1: 30pm 2. Half the time, the housekeeping does not clean your room before your kids naptime even if you call the front desk to request it in the morning so you have to sit and wait while they clean your room instead of napping. 3. My kid was cranky in the afternoon and evening because of this which made dinner difficult. 4. The douvet cover is two sheets sandwiching a comfortor so it fell apart every night and turned into a jumbled mess which woke me up repeatedly 5. It is extremely noisy until 11: 30pm (and even later some nights) with music from amplifiers echoing from the lobby and outside and sometimes louder with screaming people. I can hear the echos from the lobby very clearly on the third floor and the dinging from the elevator. I felt our outdoor time was limited by this unideal sleeping arrangement. Others said the bed itself is uncomfy- i think besides the sheets the bed is ok. Besides that- the workers asked me where my husband was every day except one day. Lastly- it is extremly hard to get a coffee here. It is my second to last morning here and the bar tender finally approached me and told me I can actually get a full sized coffee at the hotel bar which I did not know before, unfortunately for my kid and my poor arms carrying him from one end of the resort to the next with tiny cups of coffee with undesolved sugar. It was the slowest checkin if my life- it took the lady 20 min to acknowledge me and I had to fend off my spot in line after traveling from 4: 30am. I never tried the sushi restaurant because you must show up at 9am in person to make the reservation and I showed up at 10: 15am. You are not allowed to call to make the reservation and it must be 9am. Next year, I would like to try Iberostar resort. This is a good budget place (1500us per week!) but I am never coming back here because there are so many resorts in Puerto Vallarta and I would like to find something more ideal meaning better sleeping arrangements and more carefree with childcare options. There is a stage that Lance wanted to run on every day but there are screws and nails sticking out of the floor. The music and ac units were loud and it was hard to hear the ocean. Not to mention there was often two different songs playing at different ends of the pool- not that relaxing. Downtown is absolutely lovely. I met people who went to 3+ places around Puerto Vallarta and Playa Mita. The guests I spoke with were cool.
So although I found a lot of room for timprovement we still enjoyed our stay because that is what we came to do- get sunshine. So we went to the pool, beach, and buffets every day. The buffets were really hit or miss with the dishes but every meal I found something delicious so I was happy. The service was kinda all over the place as far as great, good, and bad but it was great most of the time meaning attentive and friendly. Front desk was a mess. Pool was really nice. I liked the group activities during the day even though we didn’t participate- just good laid back vibes. Beach was beautiful. The drinks were all around great here. We also appreciated the complimentary minibar refill daily. With good ingredients, you get a good result so it was a great vacation still but basically the setup was not easy with my very large and fast toddler and next year I would like to find something that is either even more relaxing so that I don’t have to worry so much about my son getting into everything or is in a cute town so it would justify me having to monitor the environment/my two and will be threw year old.

There is a thoughtless indifference to guests at this hotel, which generally caters to Canadians and Americans. We are Canadian. We stayed for a week and wish we could have cut our stay short and tried another hotel. Occidental by Groupe Baricelo is a 4 star hotel trying hard to keep a 3 star rating. Yes individual staff would seek to please, like Canario as the beach server and Mara in the lounge. But Emmanuel as front desk manager always seemed to be fairly ambivalent to whether guests were left feeling treated well or not. I have an idea for the Baricelo team.guests like us who pay $400 per night for pretty average food and not especially deluxe surroundings are special. You are lucky to have us choose your hotel! When your entire television system crashed 1 hour before Super Bowl and those of us looking forward to the greatest football game of the year were told to taxi to another hotel to determine if we could pay to watch it there? What is that? Your crowd of Super Bowl party guests booing your hotel and its' apathetic reaction to the technical failure were quick to notice that you just don't really care.

I had an amazing stay here with my boyfriend. We stayed 1 week.
Their service and food is really good. People here are very generous and helpful. Their entertainment shows were amazing! Would highly recommend this resort! Thank you and we would come back here again:)

Hotel is excellent. The staff is happy and helpful. The food was good. The grounds are beautiful. Every day was wonderful. We enjoyed a wonderful week and look forward to coming here again. A little piece of Heaven on earth. We love Mexico and we really love the Occidental Nuevo Villarta. Our new favorite place and we have been to many places in Mexico.

El hotel me pareció muy bueno, amplio en sus espacios, con buena iluminación y ventilación, posee una basta zona de playa con camastros y camas; las habitaciones son cómodas y todas cuentan con alguna vista al mar, el hotel posee tres restaurantes para las distintas comidas del día, hay platillos con muy buen sabor aunque debo aclarar que no todo es bueno, completo en servicios y entretenimiento como zonas de bar, juegos y deportes en zona de alberca y playa, gimnasio, entre otros, además de contar con zonas exclusivas para clientes con membresía; cuenta con personal muy amable, bilingüe y servicial.

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta was a great experience. It was very clean and I was always greeted with a smile. The waitresses, Keila, Mara, and Flor were very attentive and made sure I was well served! The bartenders, Jesus and Rene, made sure to keep the mood alive and keep guests happy!

We can't wait to go again! Fabulous All inclusive buffet with variety choices even for a picky eater like me! Nice pool, fabulous beach, clean rooms. Great time!

Rooms were nice, beds comfy. Buffet food okay. Italian restaurant was great. Great pool bartender.very fun. Nice beach and volleyball court, great location. Needing repair- shower leaked by door a lot. Curtains were torn and needed replacing on ends. Overall, happy with stay. 3.5 stars. I would go back.
