Gossips Kitchen opiniones
My husband and I dropped in on Friday March 31, our first time here for dinner. We were seated promptly and ordered cocktails, then decided to order the two dinner specials, duck confit with potatoes and asparagus, and swordfish with linguine and tomato cream sauce. Both were excellent - very fresh and nicely presented. Our server was attentive and courteous. We’re looking forward to visiting again soon to explore the regular menu.
What an amazing experience. Where do I start. Ismat and his team of professional cooks created a fantastic experience for my family and I.
The food is great, pick any on the menu and you will be impressed. Very unique blend of spices and cooking style. Also pairs well with drinks. Highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed the gumbo, we've been to KPauls in New Orleans and with the exception of the type of sausage used, it was amazing. The Jammin Jambalaya and Shrimp Etouffe were not as spiced as in the Cajun City, but still very tasty. Will definately go back. Just so you know, it is a cash only restaurant, but prices are very good and it's worth a visit.
The chef is a well traveled and interesting guy, worth taking the time to talk to. The food is great and this is a good find when you're looking for a local place.
Wonderful restaurant. I came to the resto a few years ago when I visited Mexico. It had amazing food, I ate here nearly everyday of my 18 day visit and it had great food nearly everytime. Izmat was a great host and was very welcoming. I hope to return some day.
LOVE the Gumbo! Service is attentive with happy eyes (above the mask) and the house white wine is tasty!
So finally decided to try this place after walking by several times. I had the ribeye burger with Caesar salad and my hubby had red thai curry. Both dishes were excellent as was the service. I have tried many burgers since being in (July 2021) Ajijic and so far this was the best!
What a find! The specials the night we went were grilled or blackened rib-eye steak and Cioppino. The steak was cooked to order, tender and very flavorful. It was served with corn on the cob, chimichurri, and a side salad. The Cioppino (a San Francisco fish stew) had an aromatic and flavorful broth and included mussels, shrimp, fish, and calamari. The calamari was as tender as could be. All of the seafood was fresh and delicious. We will be back. I almost forgot, the warm bread pudding with ice cream was incredibly moist and the most satisfying end to a perfect meal.
Small, intimate bar/restaurant with excellent food
Gossips is one of those small, hole-in-the-wall places that delivers the perfect combination of atmosphere, service, and great food.
The welcome is warm and friendly, prices are fair, and the quality of what's on offer is outstanding.
Highly recommended. I'll be back a lot.
Thank you, Ismat. The jambalaya and gumbo were both lifesavers for Estelle & me! Your food is superb, your servers are friendly, efficient and fun to talk to and you are a prince of a gentleman. I cannot wait to have your incredible Thai ribs again. Oh my God!
I had high expectations when I looked at the menu but left disappointed. Peanut soup had an overwhelming sour yogurt taste to it. No other flavor. The blackened chicken was overcooked and tasteless. The fries were very tasty though. The pecan pie seemed very old. Had no moisture left to it. I don't like chocolate in my pecan pie but I realize some people do. I took the pecans off, added them to the ice cream, and all was well. To the chef's credit, the food was all perfectly arranged. It looked delicious, even though it wasn't.
Genuine Cajun. In Ajijic! And lots of other an excellent cuisine. Owner and his wife are watching a charming and welcoming. Service was perfect. Definitely in the list!
