35Great place to visit and there are a few shaded hikes. Great for escaping the scorching sun at lunch time. Reasonably priced and lots to discover. We took the bus, 50 pesos for two people from PV downtown.
El camino no está bien delimitado pues me perdí, no existen fichas técnicas que describan las plantas, bonito lugar es como una pequeña expedición en el monte
A very interesting story behind the building of this place.a great tour through the place that explains everything. Had a great time.they have a wonderful restaurant.
A perfect 45 minute trail for avid hikers or just take a leisurely stroll through the gardens. The view from the gift shop and restaurant is spectacular.
Spectacular! Must see! Easily 2 days to visit. The restaurant with jungle views is amazing and the food is phenomenal! Please support this amazing place!
Enchanting! This place is a 65 acre combination of beautiful gardens and jungle. For $200 pesos per person entry, we spent about 5 hours (10a-3p) exploring all hiking trails, garden areas, cemetery, and the chapel. Hike the trails into the jungle shade and, depending on the path you choose, you may discover the river for swimming, riverside beach for a rest, the small children's water fall, or climb higher for mountain views. We finished with lunch at the hacienda. The views here are also spectacular! Enjoy a meal in the restaurant, overlooking the mountain valley, where hummingbirds buzz through the open air dining room, or sip a cocktail in the "livingroom" on the gift shop level. Prices are on par with casual dining in the US. Two drinks and two meals were $634 pesos ($36 dollars). The food was excellent, with portions on the larger side. Service was great and the Vanilla Mojito a must try. We enjoyed the drive from El Centro, Vallarta - with traffic it took about an hour. Note: Entry fee provides garden access for two days.
Wonderful place to spend the day, beautiful gardens and surrounding jungle. Never seen so many diverse species of plants. Untold hours of love and maintenance have gone into this special slice of heaven. By far the best meal and drinks we have had anywhere else in town, maybe the views service or the meticulous attention to detail of the presentation, all I know is it was fabulous.
Maravilloso lugar, pasas un rato maravilloso es para desestresarte, un lugar lleno de paz, donde te reencuentras contigo mismo.
We spent about half a day here, which is enough time to see most of this spectacular garden. I advise sticking to the main paths unless HIKING is your goal. There isn’t much to see on the long dirt paths that go down to the river. There is a shorter path that will take you down a steep, but much easier way there behind the restaurant & you won’t miss any significant plants. The river is super cold for swimming, but the small creek labeled “Children’s Waterfall” is warm (but barely enough to get wet—at least when we were there). We took a taxi out & he instructed us on how to catch the bus back (& was a great tour guide to beaches along the way). It was easy-peas & cheap, too.
When you visit Puerto Vallarta and have an interest in the regional botanical variety, this is the place worth a day or more of relaxed hiking for botany. Enjoy the excellent balcony restaurant and commendable gift shop with knowledgeable staff.
Beautiful garden with a huge variety of jungle plants and trees. Colibri birds gather at the restaurant on the balcony. Something unique to see.
El lugar esta de ensueño. El desayuno delicioso. El cafe con un sabor y aroma increible. Si quieren conocer el lugar vayan con tiempo esta increible
Nice place full of a diversity of plants, but a bit expensive- especially for for what it is and prohibitive towards locals getting to explore their own botanical treasures. It was the most expensive ticket I purchased while in Mexico which included pyramids, zoos and all sorts of museums and sometimes included additional camera charges. Since it was so expensive I came back for a second day since the ticket was still good, and felt better after jumping in the river- for clean natural water is such a scarcity in Mexico. Though they recommended bug spray I didn't have a problem without, but during the rainy summer season expect storms in the late afternoon and explore early.
You best vacation value! You admission ticket (200 pesos or about 10 US) is good for two consecutive days which is good because the garden is about 65 areas with rivers for swimming and hiking trails through the woods, take lots of time to explore. Bar and Restaurant are first rate and authentic. Free guided tour with a biologist at 1 each day and a free non alcoholic drink is included with your ticket. The gardens is member supported but is open to the public. Take public transportation (Tuito Bus) for about 30 pesos each way. Highly recommended and beautiful.
