Marival Armony Luxury Resort & Suites

We had a small hiccup with our room that was sort out by the concierge Marlon, which was super helpful, Nacho another concierge was also very emphatic to the situation, the food it's first class, the staff it's friendly.

We paid for a romantic dinner on the beach to watch the sunset, haven't had it yet but we are super hype about it, I will update the review when we do

The Marival Armony is a decent mid-class resort for family's and small groups. When we got there, the room wasn't what we booked due to Transat complications, but the wonderful manager Suzanna sorted it out and upgraded our rooms free of charge. Andres the bell boy sensed our displeasure with Transat (who also failed to deliver the private car we paid for) and got us some drinks.

Rooms are incredibly nice, if a little damp due to ocean breeze. A slight mold smell irritated us a bit when we first arrived, but a quick mopping sorted it out. The water, juice, Pepsi, and Corona filled minibar is a nice touch, although a few snacks would've been nice.

Restaurants are very nice as well. Good selections and lots of options for every meal. I personally recommend the La Brise buffet for breakfast, as they have omelette, pancake, waffle, and French toast stations where they make it right in front of you.

Service can be a little slow during peak hours, and staff communication needs to be more robust. They asked for our room number three times a meal, every meal. Many a time, they have also pseudo-shunned us for trying to get their attention. (e.g. Turning their heads away when we are signaling for them)

Pools are wonderful. Infinity pools are elegantly and correctly executed. Seating at the pools can be a little crowded, if you find a seat at all. Luckily, the awesome pool director Nancy was able to free up a spot for us. Don't bother trying to "reserve" a spot by placing a towel or book, she will scope that out and free up the space if you aren't back in a timely fashion.

The Blend bar is also an exceptionally good place to go for drinks. The evening bartender extraordinaire Eddie makes a damn good Rum Punch, among other things. Make sure to ask him about the Eddie Special.

All in all, they could use a few changes, but if you can live with the slight flaws, and sometimes ignorant staff, I recommend the Marival Armony.

Beautiful hotel, phenomenal scenery, clean and very nice staff. Lots of staff interested in helping out for instance finding chairs on the beach or bringing drinks before they empty. Every bar used Brand name liquor with generous pours and a smile. We didn't see any plastic during the entire stay, glass cups and plates everywhere.
This hotel is quiet and relaxed, no animation team, loud music or disco. Low key and very elegant. The views and landscaping are amazing and the resort is new and in great shape.
I am Celiac and had no issues finding food. On most days they put out gluten free bread or cake for breakfast and most restaurants had gluten free items on the menus. At the buffet we had luck finding gluten free options, ribs, beef, eggs, etc with the help of knowledgeable chefs and the helpful Captain Guillermo:) The restaurant does have gf options available but not all the staff are aware or speak enough English to consistently help. The hotel could do better by putting gluten free signs by the buffet items as they are taking the time to prepare delicious gf dishes anyway.

The beach is beautiful, the gym is also new with great equipment. We were sad to leave, it's a real gem of a resort.

Excellent food and drink service. Every room has a beautiful balcony. Stunning and quiet beachfront looking out over a whale filled bay. Staff will set up chairs and an umbrella for you when you arrive at the beach. Nice gym with new equipment. Staff eager to serve you drinks with liberal pours using top shelf liquor. Lots of amazing staff but Guillermo and Karen were incredibly helpful, friendly and went above and beyond to help out my spouse with food options who has celiac disease. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a nice relaxing vacation. If you want loud music and late night parties full of drunk college students then this isn't the place for you.

Muy recomendable hotel, las habitaciones son muy cómodas y bonitas, la comida es buena pero algunos restaurantes son MUY LENTOS en el servicio.

My family and I stayed at the Marival Armony resort for one week over new years. All around this is a truly fantastic resort. I would like to give a huge shout out to all the staff as everyone I encounter was extremely friendly and accommodating. I also appreciated the calm and relaxing atmosphere throughout the resort. The beach was wonderful, clean, and just the perfect amount of surf. Everyone enjoyed the infinity pool and swim-up bar. Due to the fact our group ranged from 8-84 years of age it was just easier to eat ever meal at the buffet. We never had an issue finding nutritious and delicious options. The evening entertainment was first class and not to be missed; (three tenors, Michele Jackson tribute, six Mexican dancers, and the off the charts New Years Party! Where at one point I counted 14 people on stage). The rooms were comfortable, clean, and had plenty of closet space and drawers.
They have this weird 'VIP' section at $150 pp/day but why? You get a lawn chair, sand between your toes, and mini hot tub. It's luxurious I'm sure but no one used it and why would you? Perhaps the resort will figure out a better use for this wonderful space.
Either way, I know the resort had undergone huge renovations over the last year and it appears you put much though and attention into the new digs. We look forward to returning again.

For families likely ok. Isolated. Beautiful pools and beaches. Nice set up. For me.services lacking. Staff really nice but still lacking.

Think twice before coming with a baby.staff is disorganized and need more training, no one knows what time things open, or what’s available.
The food is mediocre. There are only two real options, the buffet and one restaurant and neither offer much variety. The restaurants open at 6: 30, so if anyone has a baby that goes to bed at 7: 00-7: 30, every night becomes a late night for the baby.
Also any shows/ live karaoke occurs right outside the main lobby, and therefore it becomes very loud at night.
Housekeeping came knocking on our door at 9: 45 pm when baby was sleeping. I couldn’t hold back when I opened the door and asked me if I needed towels.is this was a joke.

We stayed there for 7 days in the adult only section. This is the most peaceful beautiful resort I have ever stayed at. It was quite in the entire Resort, even the children were quite. The food is first class and the staff is great! Especially Antonio!

There are a few incidental things I would change but for the most part a fabulous vacation that I will always treasure & remember.

Creo recomendable, pésima experiencia. Nos dieron un habitacion sucia (llena de polvo y con cucharadas muertas) sin elevador, sin agua caliente (porque en esa zona no llega) el internet lo cobran por dispositivo, tenían trabajadores todo el día, entonces descansar ni se podía. Los muebles bien feos, súper incómodos, las cortinas con agujeros.
El peor hotel en el que he estado.
Fuimos del 23 al 30 de agosto. Salimos antes porque ya no aguantamos la incomodidad

Arquitectura en armonía con la naturaleza. Llegue con tiempo, muy lento el proceso de check in y check out.
Concepto all inclusive atractivo. Nuevo en la zona.

I will start by saying the new resort is beautiful. However I would save my money and go elsewhere. The food here is terrible and the drinks have almost no alcohol in them. We stayed at the condo side and our ac didn’t work the first night and no flushing toilet or hot water in shower. Then the rain came and our room literally had over an inch of water throughout when we got back from dinner. Even guests we met on the new resort side stayed they had lots of water in their room. They have also taken the beach away which was a great part of the old Rancho Banderas. Now they charge $150 a day to sit in a sandy area near the beach.

The beach was simply amazing. The staff were so very accommodating. We did not want for anything. The only negative while we were there was the on going construction and the leak under our bathroom sink.

La playa (destiladeras) es la mas bonita de la bahía y el hotel muy bien, solo que están construyendo otra torre y había ruido.

La ubicación esta genial.la playa super virgen y por ello limpia.el resort tiene un personal totalmente capacitado y con un maravilloso sentido del servicio al cliente.las instalaciones están super cuidadas y limpias.esta en remodelación cierta área más no afecta en lo más mínimo.todavía me faltan 5 días de estadía y espero siga todo como hasta ahora.

It is now my favorite spot for beach! Love all the friendly staff. Food was good enough at the restaurants. The pool was clean and the beach was the best part of our trip. Absolutely the best beach for boogie boarding.

Me encanto el lugar, la comida es excelente y la atención del personal, todos son muy amables. Lo recomiendo.
