W Punta de Mita

El personal del hotel, la comida, la ubicación y las vistas son excelentes. Le habría dado al W Hotel una calificación de 4 o 5 estrellas si no fuera por la falta de prácticas de sostenibilidad que les encanta promocionar. Algunos ejemplos:

1) el hotel ofrece a todos botellas de agua de plástico y pajitas de plástico en lugar de opciones de papel o cartón. Usar papel parece una obviedad considerando que el hotel está al lado del océano. Todo el mundo conoce el impacto que tienen los plásticos en la vida marina y los ecosistemas en estos días, lo que me lleva al siguiente comentario.

2) la playa tenía basura cuando llegamos. Mi pareja y yo lo limpiamos nosotros mismos durante las 2 noches y 3 días que estuvimos. No vi a una sola persona recogiendo escombros o plásticos cada día, lo que esperaría en un resort que cobra los mismos precios que un hotel urbano estadounidense.

3) los pájaros asaltaban los paquetes de azúcar en las mesas del restaurante. No fue lo peor y no fue culpa de los pájaros, pero los estaban arrastrando fuera del sitio y creando más basura fuera del resort. Los invitados tienen que pedir leche para su café al camarero de todos modos, por lo que no debería ser un problema pedir azúcar también.

Sé que mi calificación de 3 estrellas puede parecer dura, pero estas cosas son importantes para mí y para mis compañeros. Por lo demás, fue fabuloso. Espero que W lea esta reseña y reaccione rápidamente. Si alguien sabe cómo puedo comunicarme con la alta dirección para discutir mi experiencia directamente, me encantaría hacerlo.

Mi estancia en este hotel fue simplemente excepcional! Desde el momento en que entré, fui recibido con una cálida bienvenida por el amable personal. Las instalaciones eran impecables y bellamente decoradas, creando una atmósfera acogedora y relajante.

La habitación era espaciosa y confortable, con una cama increíblemente cómoda que garantizaba un sueño reparador. Además, la limpieza era impecable, lo que me hizo sentir aún más cómodo durante mi estancia.

This Marriott property is one of the best! The living room bar is a must and you have to ask for Marco! Without a doubt he is the face of the beginning of an adventure.

Everything about this place was amazing. Attentive staff, exceptional food, and a vast assortment of entertainment options that's range from beach activities to perfectly paired small plates and cocktails.

Property is beautiful, staff provides great service. Even standard rooms are very upscale. Visited property in fall-was promised on multiple occasions construction would be completed the day after my arrival…well everyday at the only pool that was open I got to listen to drilling all day and part of the evening. All of this for a cool $800/night. Property is beautiful but to be a true 4 or 5 star hotel honestly about construction is required when guests paying this type of rate for standard rooms. Beach also not in good shape up one our visit due to construction

A lot of construction happening right now. They probably should mention when you book. Especially since it cost $600 per night during thanksgiving.

The resort is so beautiful and the staff are great! This was a mother daughter trip and David was super accommodating helping us with room accommodations.
We had an ocean view room and it was dreamy!

The design of the resort is so pretty with the Mosaic tiles and gorgeous Mexican colours. Both pools were amazing and the beach is beautiful.

We had a couple workouts and the gym was nice!

We felt like we were in our own paradise. The hotel and grounds are visually beautiful and set up for both fun and relaxation, whichever you are craving. We can't say enough about the staff at the hotel. Everyone there is so friendly and they go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. The variety of fresh-made ceviche was such a treat, but truly every meal we had was delicious. We were fortunate to stay in an oceanview suite with a deck and personal plunge pool and spent a lot of time watching the sunset and listening to the waves each day.

La verdad es que quede encantado con el hotel, muy buenos estándares en todo, puedo decir que vale cada peso la experiencia.

La habitación impecable (cool corner), quizás solo pudo haber mejorado si se hubiera pudido regular la temperatura de la bañera externa, pero la verdad es que es una nimiedad, la bañera increíble, cama y espacios muy cómodos.

Excelente la comida del hotel (mi top los fideos borrachos del Spice Market, una joya), muy bien hechos los tragos y buena selección de cerveza artesanal.

La alberca muy bien, excelente la música ambiental y el dj (deep house, techno, minimal), animado, pero relajante si uno lo quiere. La playa estaba algo afectada por la tormenta que recien hubo; sin embargo, mis felicitaciones por limpiarla y habilitarla en un día, también si les gusta el surf es muy buen spot, hay bastante gente practicándolo.

Sin duda volveré!

Stayed here for a week with the family. Fantastic stay from beginning to end. Check in was smooth, as elite member was upgraded to a nice room with ocean and jungle view. The rooms were basically spotless and there were water bottles and welcome gift delivered to our room. The three main restaurants on site are nice with fair but of variety of fresh food and drinks and service staff Francisco, Luis, Nacho and all pool area staff provided excellent service. The location is beautiful right on the beach, the beach is nice for kids but also nice if you like to surf with some nice waves in morning and late evening. The pool is a dream for kids with a huge shallow area but also big enough area for kids and a completely separate second pool for adults only. They also provide sunscreen and aloe and tanning lotion near pool for all guests. They had specials and live dj and different activities each day to keep things interesting. Location is very safe and secure, it is a bit distance from other places Incase you interested to leave the property will take 20-30 min but transportation can easily be arranged. If you like to do some tours suggest to book couple weeks in advance. If you looking to relax enjoy don't miss this prime Marriott property.

Food and drinks are delicious! The staff is amazing and they made sure our group had the best attention and help needed. The location is amazing the sand is as white as in the caribbean.

Good pool service and the resort workers are generally very efficient and nice. Great aesthetics and design of the property, it's well designed. That’s about it.

Where to begin? I thought Mr. David Gauna, the new General Manager was brought in to make the W Punta De Mita better and not worse? Recall that several years back, this hotel did not even try to honor Elite benefits and/or upgrades.

We all have our reasons for wanting to stay at a W hotels. Many of us are raving fans of this hotel brand as well as our loyalty to Marriott. Myself personally, I have stayed at 6 other W hotels worldwide including the W Bali. The fact that I purchase bath and bedding products at the W Hotels The Store website for my home, that alone should tell you something about my loyalty and love for the W Hotels brand. And I also have the W Maldives booked for January of 2023. Apparently now I need to rethink my relationship with this hotel brand simply because hotel management at W Punta De Mita hotel does not seem to care if you are happy or not as a customer. It seems at this location, all they care about is their profit and they do not have any common sense as to try to keep guests satisfied. It’s the little things that make us paying guests feel special and appreciated, and keeps us coming back. And the entire staff simply disappeared when I wanted them to look into assisting me.

Listen, if you are you going to spend well over $1,200/night USD (for a basic room, including some meals, drinks and extra cash tips to the waiters and resort workers), it better be worth it. And in my opinion, the W Punta De Mita was not worth it at all. At least at the Grand Velas, you pay over $1,000 USD/night but you get very quality all-inclusive F/B, and I liked that there’s no pretentiousness at Velas Resorts.

Bottom line is the hotel ruined what was supposed to be a beautiful elaborate surprise birthday balloon arrangement for my wife. Several days before checkin the hotel informed me that balloon arrangements wouldn’t fit into the regular ocean view room they upgraded me to (I am Bonvoy Elite and had booked the jungle view originally). So we scrambled for alternative options. They suggested upgrading me to an Oasis suite and gave me a very good price for the upgrade, or so I thought. Well it turned out they weren’t very clear and what they were quoting me was the upgrade per NIGHT in addition to what I was already going to pay for the basic room. So the upgrade charge was going to cost more than my entire 2 night stay combined. Unbelievable. And they had the audacity to quote me such an outrageous number.

I reached out to management in an attempt to get some assistance and they were all hush hush and nowhere to be found. Not one employee offered any assistance. At any other reasonable hotel or resort, I would think they would not hesitate to upgrade me to a suite to accommodate the birthday balloon arrangements, or hey here’s an idea, how about honoring the original upgrade price that you give to your guests in the first place? ! So then I had no choice but to cancel the balloon arrangements, and the local vendor lost out on almost $500 USD worth of work for the arrangement. I guess the W also does not like supporting their local entrepreneurs.

The entire experience left me somewhat dumbfounded. To be honest, prior to my arrival, I was also debating to cancel my entire stay @ the W Punta De Mita because of the petty back and forth I had with their Front Desk Staff - Okay yeah we’ll give you the suite for this xx price, followed by oh sorry we quoted the wrong price, to we’ll give you the suite for 5% off, followed by 10% off after I pushed for more discounts.

Also beware and check your bill. The hotel adds an optional room service charge for the maid, which you can supposedly remove during checkout, but in my haste to exit the property, I did not notice the option to remove it, so definitely consider doing that. Hey this place wants to nickel and dime you as a guest, well we too can do the same.

This place is truly magical! The hotel provides the option to get picked up in their nice shuttles to and from the airport which I highly recommend. As soon as we arrived it felt like a dream! The resort is so beautiful and the staff are so friendly and accommodating! We got the lake view room and it did not disappoint! They have multiple pools and a stunning spa where we got the best couple massage and facial (Lupita and Diana are the best!) Also, make sure to request Alex to help you for any poolside drinks and food he is super nice and so helpful! We spent lots of time at the pool where they had a live DJ and also some time at beach which is steps away from the pool. Also Loved how they had gym amenities! They have a few restaurants in the resort as well as 24/7 room service. The food is absolutely delicious at all there restaurants. We are already looking forward to our next visit! Thanks so much for taking care of us!:)

This was our first visit and we loved it! The property was spectacular, the staff super helpful and friendly, and great on-site restaurants. The seafood at Salerno was unbelievable! We ordered shrimp by weight and got 1kg and it was enough to feed 5 of us! It was cooked to perfection. Also tried the red snapper, grilled on the BBQ, so fresh and tasty. They also have a kid's menu in case you have kids that don't like seafood. You can reserve poolside cabanas for free and pay to reserve beach cabanas but it comes with 2 free drinks. Everything was also reasonably priced for a luxury resort. We are definitely making this our new go-to place to stay.

THIS PLACE IS SPECTACULAR.

To be totally honest, I was a little nervous to book here - and I was heavily debating paying the extra amount to stay at the Four Seasons or the St. Regis.and now I feel ridiculous for ever having doubted myself. I was nervous because of previous reviews that stated it was a party hotel, super loud, etc. My husband and I got married in Nayarit and wanted to take a mini-moon before flying home, but we wanted to relax, definitely did not want a party atmosphere. Sure, could you party here if you wanted to - definitely. Can you totally relax and have peace and quiet on the beach or at the adults-only pool - absolutely.

The grounds are breathtaking. The beach is huge, white powder sand. The restaurants (3) were outstanding, we did not have a bad meal. And the service, the service is impeccable - I've truly never seen better. Our rooms were bright, spacious and comfortable - my god, the bed, so so comfortable. We were only supposed to stay 2 nights, but after the first night, I changed our flights and booked us another night because I didn't want to come home. And then when we did have to come home.the first thing I did was book another trip back in November.

Lastly, I have to give a shout out to the best masseuse at the Away Spa. Her name is Monserrat. I saw her 2 days in a row for 80-minute treatments. I have never seen anything like this spa, and I have been to some incredible spas (Montage and Ritz Carlton in Kapalua) and this blows all of them out of the water. The plunge pool situation they have going on there - heaven. Definitely book with Monserrat.
