152Worst Check in experience horrible Lady named Arcelia and don't remember the other guys name, vidanta is a scam they'll nickle & dime u to death, don't buy their time share or membership, they tour u thru Grand luxxe Hotel to sell the membership but when u return they'll book u in Sea Garden lesser quality building
Treated like ROYALTY! BEST VACA EVER! SPECTACULAR TIME! Everything you could want and more! Right on the BEACH! Restaurants-OUTSTANDING!
Please utilize overhead lights. The lights on the stage are blinding, gave me a head ache and made me nauseous.
Very pretty resort with lots of walkways through the lush tropical surroundings, lots of good quality restaurants that are open to the public. Plenty of pools and activities for families. Good hygiene standards through covid. Huge property which allows social distancing. Nice gondola transport and new beach club
I do see a lot of reviews from people saying how expensive it is on the resort, however for the five diamond amenities it is reasonably priced based on what you spend back home. Don’t expect Mexican prices, this is an ultra luxury resort with 20 + swimming pools, 3 golf courses. Over one mile of beach, 7,000 employees, an underground city for employees, 2000 acres, 8 miles of walkways, shopping plazas, 27 hotel towers, a 3.5 billion dollar theme park under construction. The worlds 1st ocean front Gondola ride to a them park 2 miles away. There is plenty of walking if you want to get healthy but if you don’t like to walk there are Golf carts.
I would steer clear of this place. 1 hour presentation turned into 7 hours. Every thing looks good paper but in they end you are paying out the butt. Don't waste your time.
The resort and the service while staying there was Excellent! We got hit with the Timeshare pitch TWICE AS SOON AS WE GOT OFF THE PLANE! Once at the airport and again as soon as we got at the resort. It felt like almost 2 hrs before we even got to our room! We were simply there to enjoy our wedding anniversary, not to be committed to attend Timeshare presentations!
Place is great. Check in and check out process was brutal. Took two hours to get our room assigned as they were more interested in getting is signed up for their sales presentation. I get they need to do this, but we had three young kids and arrived at dinner time. The discussion would've been better after dinner or the next day.
At check out, we arranged for a courtesy room ahead of time. We were told to see the concierge to to get access to the room. We went to the concierge and were told we were at the wrong one. Took 15 mins to get to right one. At that point we were told we were too late and there was nothing that could be done. Very disappoint.
Really nice place and could be great if they made these experienced better. A bad first impression and a bad final experience is hard to make up for.
Over sold for level of customer service that can be applied. High pressure sales but delivery of product isn't there. The organization is very fragmented so the theme is always " we have no control over that. Those decisions are made elsewhere. " The employees on site are very good and try to do their best but they are at a very disadvantaged position to meet customer expectations.
We have stayed at the Grand Mayan several times and it's always great.
There is always construction going on so it changes each time we come. Avoid the timeshare presentation if you can but they aren't too bad. Just takes a lot of your pool time!
First class in every way possible. Accommodations, staff and service are all top notch. Food offerings were great as well. But, they continued expansion should end. Focus on the deferred maintenance before you keep building.
The facilities are brand new and it looks like there is a lot more development coming up. As of March 2020, this looks like a Jurassic Park. It's made in a way you do not have to leave this place, with access to a private beach, multiple restaurants and even their own groceries store. The only major flaw is moving around the facilities since it's so huge. They use golf carts to move people around, but they never have are enough. Also, check in was slow and painful, took easily 1+ hour due to the line up.
The staff are super friendly, courteous and trustworthy. My biggest surprise every year is that staff remember us and our names. We have been members there 4 over 30 years.
